Associate Professor of Design & Digital Media in the Design Program at the State University of Bahia (UNEB), teaching Digital Methods, Data Visualization, and Design & Society. Tenured since 2009 and lead of Datalab/Design (CNPq), a research and development group dedicated to data‑visualization practice and digital‑method experimentation. Investigates data visualization, digital methods, platform studies, digital imaginaries, and the social repercussions of algorithmic mediation. Author of Smartbodies: Digital Platforms, Wearable Technologies and Reshaped Bodies (Portuguese Only) and contributor to scholarship on contemporary media epistemologies. Visiting researcher at the Milieux Institute for Arts, Culture and Technology (Concordia University, Montréal) in 2019, and collaborator with Inova Media Lab (NOVA University Lisbon) and the international Public Data Lab network. Holds a PhD in Communication (FACOM/UFBA) and an MA in Culture and Society (IHAC/UFBA). Work sits at the intersection of Design, Applied Social Sciences, Information Science, Digital Methods, and Science & Technology Studies.
